The origins of ACCESS Brain Injury Services are grounded in an appreciation of the distinct needs that result from Acquired Brain Injury.  Brain injury encompasses a diverse range of disabilities affecting vocational,  social and emotional well-being.   Whether the nature of these disabilities is mild,  moderate or severe, the impact on the individual,  family and community can be profound.  The cognitive and behavioural deficits associated with brain injury can present major obstacles to maximising the individual's recovery.  These factors must be thoroughly assessed and their impact on the individual's functioning  just as thoroughly understood.
